Top Anti Virus Programs

One anti-virus is different from another one because they all are not created alike. Just like you buy other daily-needs products the anti-virus software also varies from good to bad and an average. These days you find many programs and software promising you security and protection for your PC. One can easily get confused that which one is the better one and so on.
These are top 3 reviews that you must check:

Microsoft MSE
MSE (Microsoft Security Essentials) which is anti-virus software program owned and distributed by Microsoft is one among the most widely used antivirus programs today. It has the potentiality of handling almost every malware and virus on your PC. A good thing about MSE is that it is simple and has a less bulky design which can easily be used with old PC’s as well. Another wonderful feature of this anti-virus software is that even less tech-savvy people can use it with ease. You can use this with your personals as well as the professional systems.

AVG Anti-Virus
AVG is also one of the most used anti-virus software that helps you in keeping your computer and related systems safe. With minimal charges you can get a professional version of AVG Anti-Virus and then keep on updating it time and again from the AVG website.

Avira Antivirus
Avira is simple and have a user interface that is as good as the MSE’s. Just like MSE, it again has a light-weight deign. PC users take its services widely and rate it good on the list.

Need a new laptop? Might be a good idea to hold off … for now.

There will be a big change in the PC industry this year as a result of the release of Microsoft’s new operating system, Windows 8. Windows 8 will bring some new changes to the way PCs are used, and these changes are driven by the significant consumer demand for touch-screen technology.

Smart-phone and Tablet users will be very familiar with driving their devices by moving their fingers across the screen. Windows 8’s significant change from Windows 7 is that it will pivot largely on this type of interface. What that means for laptop hardware is that machines that are sold with Windows 8 later this year will come with touch-screens.

A touch screen upgrade may or not be cost effective for laptops with non-touch screens, but clearly this major change in hardware and operating system capability will yield laptops bought earlier this year behind the technology 8-ball and for that reason, possibly not an ideal longer term investment.

Important info for users of MICROSOFT SECURITY ESSENTIALS

Since it came out, about 12 months ago, Microsoft Security Essentials (MSSE) has gone from strength to strength as a contender for best free antivirus. However, recent tests by av-comparatives.org show that its effectiveness for detecting new threats has dropped off significantly in recent months.

The latest report for march shows only 50% effectiveness at detecting new threats. This is a serious issue for Microsoft to address, and also poses real problems in terms of vulnerability for people using this system.

Up until this report was released, we would have recommended MSSE as a great free AV. However, in light of these findings, we suggest two possible courses of action for its users:

1. While MS is working on improving its detection rates, the addition of a real-time system such as MBAM or SuperAntiSpyware (either option, paid) – there is, however no guarantee that these problems will be addressed in the short-term

2. Obtain a proper, paid AV product with an established track-history on independent tests such as Kaspersky Internet Security

For information on independent testing results of various AV products, see the reports at av-comparatives.org

Ideally, we would suggest users consider something like Kaspersky in conjunction with MBAM or SAS for the best possible real-time protection. The combined license fees for these two products is well under the cost of a professional virus removal – and significantly reduces the likelihood of infection – and the associated security risks/inconvenience of malware intrusion.
